Property Description
The design concept was influenced by
1. The client being aprox 6’6″ tall. This influences the room sizes and heights. Having lived in Canada from a early age also influence the ultra modern style..
2. George Bailey who is an elderly man, living in the house for many years and wanted the house to be.
The concept was established to create an Architecture that would maintain, most of the existing structure, and spacial layout, nevertheless removing existing roof and extending vertically, so as to not disturb the yard that is cherished by George as each flowers remind him of the essence of his deceased wife.
The transition was quite challenging. the existing slab roofs were all at different levels and demolishing wasn’t an option, as that would escalate the budget.
It was also intended to create a linear Architecture that would lay flat on the land. The master suite was designed to the south west to maximize on the view overlooking the city.
